What data is collected
To help the user make use of the system, the following data is going to be collected:
- NetID
- Course role (student, TA, lecturer)
- For students, the group they are a part of is also going to be stored, as well their weekly contributions to their projects
- For TAs, the groups they personally oversee are going to be stored
- The system also keeps timestamps of when users interacted with it in a constructive or destructive way.
How data is used
NetIDs will be used to identify the users. Their course role will dictate their permissions over course editions and subgroups within those. Contributions to the projects are needed in order to generate reports to help with grading and identifying problematic groups. Data will be provided on a need-to-know basis. Users may only see the information of other users over which they have permission in a specific domain and which would've been available to them in other applications used by the university such as Brightspace.
How data is stored
Data is going to be kept on-site at TU Delft. Access to the data will be strict and only the system admin will have access to the database. Information about courses may be deleted after 5 years. Timestamps will remain for accountability.
Additional information
As a project developed at TU Delft, GitBull also adheres to the university's privacy statement which can be found here.
